Computer says no

I hate to say this, but I likely won't be posting as much as I usually do for the remainder of the week.

Why? Reason #1: I'm really busy with work, and everything on my plate right now has to be completed and turned in before my parents arrive on Monday.

Reason #2: I'm pretty sure I killed my nearly new MacBook yesterday by spilling water on it. (I'll know for sure in a few days--when I try to turn it on again.) Until I know for sure if it is, in fact, fried, I have to use my old laptop--which surely is among the slowest computers on earth.

Don't worry, I'll still compose at least one post a day and I'll be back to normal (whatever that means) early next week.

  1. OH NO!!! That's so sad. I think Mac will replace your computer if it's under warranty for free as long as whatever liquid you spilled on it wasn't alcoholic.

    Look into that.

  2. Oh no is right, Justin :( It was "just" water that I spilled on it, so I'll definitely look into what you said re: Apple replacing it for free. Like I said, I'm going to let it dry out for a few days, try to turn it back on -- and if it doesn't turn on I'll contact Apple/take it to an Apple Store to see what can be done.

  4. Thanks, Nuts. And no worries about not commenting for a while -- regardless of your reason(s). I understand completely. Congrats on getting a new PC, by the way!

  6. Thanks, Famicom Freak. Who knows, maybe I'll still manage to post a few times a day this week. My work situation actually is worse than my laptop/computer situation, though, and that's what is more likely to keep my from posting. We'll see.

Thankfully, both situations will be cleared up early next week -- as all work will be turned in by mid-day Monday and the hubs has said we will replace the MacBook if it's completely dead and can't be repaired.

  7. BTW, Justin, if you're still reading this thread: I just looked at Apple's limited (1-year) warranty for the MacBook, and it seemingly doesn't cover any kind of accidental spills, etc. We'll see, though -- if it doesn't turn on tomorrow or the next day (not sure when I'm going to try it), I'll take it to an Apple Store and see what they say... Thanks, though, for the help, regardless of how things turn out.

  10. Yeah, I know -- harsh. I'm going to try turning it on on Friday morning. If that fails to work, I'll take it into an Apple store and see if they can do anything -- even if it's only salvage the hard drive.

Thumbs up for the Little Britain reference.

  12. Thanks, Sean! Oh, and this Little Britain character was the first thing that came to mind when I decided to write about my computer "mishap."
