Speaking of Pikmin, I don't know about you, but I was a bit disappointed when I heard that Shigeru Miyamoto said, during the recent E3 event in Los Angeles, that the much-anticipated Pikmin 3 will be released for the Wii U and not the Wii. I know the Wii is all but dead at this point (thanks in no small part to Nintendo's lack of software support), but a third Pikmin title would have made for a fine swan song for the system.
Oh, well, at least this means we'll get to see Captain Olimar and his precious, plant-like companions in HD sooner rather than later.

Yeah...and I wouldn't want that swan song to be Pikmin's death knell. How many times have you heard, "No, there won't be a sequel because the original didn't sell well..." and the reasoning behind that being that it came at the very end of a system's lifespan?
ReplyDeleteYes, that's true. Really, I'll take Pikmin 3 any way I can get it. Well, I'd rather it not be on a portable system, to be honest, but other than that ...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, back to Pikmin 3 on Wii U -- I really hope Nintendo can get it done in time for the system's launch. That way it will get maximum exposure and likely see maximum sales.
