I'm not entirely sure what's going on in this trailer, but (I think) I like what I see anyway

The trailer in question is for Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit, by the way--which is being developed by Arkedo and published by Sega. It'll hit PSN and XBLA in late September (Sept. 25 and 26, respectively and specifically) and PC on Oct. 3. Oh, and all three releases will have $14.99 price tags attached to them.

I loved Arkedo Series - 03 Pixel!, so I'm seriously considering picking up the XBLA version of Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit. The only things that may keep me from doing so are the above-mentioned price tag and the fact that so much is going on in the trailer above that I'm a bit worried that playing this game could be an overwhelming (in a bad way) experience.

  1. Ooh, this works for me. I liked all three Arkedo games (through the puzzler, 02-Swap, was my favourite), and this does look very much like an Arkedo game.

I agree that it may just be a touch busy, but knowing Arkedo, it will be very playable nonetheless.

    Can't wait!

  2. Looks interesting; hopefully there will be a demo. I never heard of Arkedo before, so I'll have to check out some of their other work.

  3. I'm kind of surprised, Matt: Of all the comments I've read on line in regards to the 'Arkedo Series' games, most prefer Jump and Pixel to Push. I guess maybe I should give Push a try then...

As for this one: Yeah, my main worry is that it'll be so busy that I won't know what the hell is going on. I think I'm going to wait for impressions to appear because of that. If impressions are good, though, I'll definitely be jumping on board :)

  4. warp: Do you have a 360? I can't remember, sadly. Anyway, if you do, try Arkedo Series - 03 Pixel. It's an XBLIG platformer, and it's both cute and fun. I've heard great things about Arkedo Series - 01 Jump (another retro-ish platformer) and Arkedo Series - 02 Push (a puzzler), too, although I've yet to play them.

I believe these games were supposed to be released for PS3 (via PSN) as well, although I'm not sure that ever happened...

  5. Yeah I don't have a 360, so I guess I'm SOL. Hopefully this new one will actually make it to PSN like they say it will.

  6. Have you checked PSN for them, warp? Like I said, I can't remember if the Arkedo Series games hit that service yet or not.

As for this one hitting PSN: It has been announced for it, so I can't imagine it won't be released as promised. It's also being released for PC, though, so that's always an option for you, too, if needed.

  7. I just did a search for "arkedo" and got nothing. I found an article on psnstores.com from June 2012 saying they are "finally coming stateside" after being released in Europe last year, so maybe there's still hope.

  8. Hmmm, well, that's better than nothing, right? Maybe they'll hit PSN between now and when Hell Yeah! is released...

  9. Every preview I've read has been positive so far. The game is certainly going for the over-the-top factor. For example, you regain health by drinking menstrual blood.

  10. 2D2Will: Yeah, everything I've read about it thus far has been positive, too.

As for the last part of your comment: What?!? That's ... odd, to say the least :|

  11. You took the words right out of my mouth, warp.

  12. It looks super fun, actually! Aside from the menstrual blood...BLEH!

  13. It definitely looks and sounds wacky, doesn't it, Justin? And I'm sure it plays/controls well -- just based on Arkedo Series - 03 Pixel. Still, I want to hear more about it before handing over my dough...
