When I sprayed cat-be-gone around the Xmas tree, she huddled really close to the tree stand and outside of the area I sprayed. She's such a little punk, and such a pizza thief. Love her.Scotthttp://hystericallyassertive.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-75936145827554116452014-08-05T10:15:40.767-07:002014-08-05T10:15:40.767-07:00Awww! She'd take naps with me in her kitty bed next to me when she was little and even though she's "too mature" to cuddle with me now, she'll do it on rare occasion - wrapping her front paws around my wrist, smashes her cold nose against my arm and goes to sleep. Weirdo. Of course we'd miss her if she wasn't here.Scotthttp://hystericallyassertive.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-81031171374240523572014-08-03T11:04:40.355-07:002014-08-03T11:04:40.355-07:00Ha! Like me, she's the only cat I've ever known whose reputation precedes her own self. The vet knows her well, most of my friends are terrified of her and she'll even mess with them and corner them if they go to screaming. She got out of the house a couple years ago and had the entire neighborhood looking for her, only to show up in the garage scratching at the door about 48 hours later. More drama than a human, I could write a book on her alone.Scotthttp://hystericallyassertive.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-32131589299815089062014-07-31T13:40:55.512-07:002014-07-31T13:40:55.512-07:00I agree with all of these selections! I remember renting it at one point--probably after my brother and I had played through most of the rest of the games our grocery store's game/movie department offered--and absolutely hating it.

Chubby Cherub is a game I've always been interested in due to its box art AND the sprite of its protagonist. Did you know ol' Chubby isn't the protagonist of the original Japanese game? It actually was a licensed game over there. Anyway, I prefer the NA version.

That's an adorable story about your kitty. Is Athena still alive and kicking? I hope so :)thegaygamer.comhttp://www.thegaygamer.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-79489858037544324082014-07-31T02:51:39.870-07:002014-07-31T02:51:39.870-07:00Athena and Amagon were games I badly wanted to lik...Athena and Amagon were games I badly wanted to like but because of their difficulty always had a love/hate relationship with them until I got the game Genie. If you have a MAME arcade emulator, as far as graphics and music, the original arcade versions of Kid Niki and Athena by far surpasses their NES counterparts, but that's most cases with arcade games ported to any home console in the 80's-90's. Chubby Cherub I'd not long ago recorded some gameplay, a game I was aware of but never played until I got a NES emulator and those rare game roms.

I'd always been into mythology ever since the 1980 Clash Of The Titans which attracted me to the Athena NES game and the cool cover. I liked it enough when I got ahold of the cart back in the day via trade, I'd written SNK and enclosed a few dollars and asked for the Athena manual and they sent it - which I still have.

When I'd adopted my first baby kitten in 2000 (female, tuxedo/black and white paws) and was standing in line at Petsmart, this old lady in front of me asked for her name and the game Athena had been on my mind and I popped off with "Athena". The old lady said "Well little Athena, I hope you live up to your name". If you're calling her as difficult as the NES game Athena, she most certainly has - ask the vet!Scotthttp://hystericallyassertive.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-72373243027856725772014-07-30T21:11:05.573-07:002014-07-30T21:11:05.573-07:00Ha! And, really, I can't imagine it's much of a selling point for the Wii U at this point.
