I'd much rather use the same amount of money to buy a pile of games than to buy a single one that's still in its wrapping, for instance :)Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-41336983436514350222011-12-01T02:34:08.271-08:002011-12-01T02:34:08.271-08:00LOL, yes, my 4$ copy isn`t CIB!

Like that Air Raid game for the Atari 2600 which there are only about 14 in existence. Its one of those holy grails and it is natural that so many collectors of that system want it.

But the huge premium just for an intact plastic label I don`t understand at all.Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13681778110046124243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-74279779048502957912011-11-29T21:38:43.121-08:002011-11-29T21:38:43.121-08:00Adam: If only you'd kept it in its box and in ...Adam: If only you'd kept it in its box and in pristine condition! Of course, you probably had a lot of fun with it, which, if you ask me, is just as good (if not better) than never playing it and selling it for $1,000 20-some years down the road.Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-42853404862330244982011-11-29T21:37:18.745-08:002011-11-29T21:37:18.745-08:00I agree that 'AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!' is the p...I agree that 'AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!' is the proper response, Famicom Freak :)Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-64341751814129859952011-11-29T21:25:08.002-08:002011-11-29T21:25:08.002-08:00I had that game and watch as a kid actuallyI had that game and watch as a kid actuallyAdamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08051255914419363819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-74045259973554787872011-11-29T21:03:12.469-08:002011-11-29T21:03:12.469-08:00Wow totally crazy price that game and watch is goi...Wow totally crazy price that game and watch is going for. Ah, I was hoping you would share ...Hey there, Sean! Ah, I was hoping you would share how much you paid for your DK G&W. $4? Man...

I'm guessing yours wasn't CIB, though, right? Even so, like you said, I'm sure a nice CIB version could be had for much less than $1,000.

To be honest, even $100-200 would be too much for me. Of course, I don't have much interest in the G&W series, so that probably doesn't mean much. (Don't get me wrong -- I think they look cool, but I don't feel any particular need to own one.)

As for why people pay enormous amounts of money for sealed copies of old games: I couldn't tell you, Sean. I'm sure it has something to do with collecting, but that's as far as my understanding goes.

Me, I'll stick with buying the occasional CIB copy -- sometimes in great condition, sometimes a bit beaten up -- of the games that have long been on my wish list :)Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-70558320003194165252011-11-29T16:23:25.588-08:002011-11-29T16:23:25.588-08:00Thanks for the mention, Bryan!

Well, I understand that it is the collector market driving the price up, etc etc. But I`m sure one could buy a nice CIB copy of that same thing for about 100$-200$, the only difference being that the batteries don`t come in their original plastic. And that would be just as nice to display.

Sealed game collectors of the world - why do you do it? I just don`t understand....Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13681778110046124243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-50152994247193180112011-11-29T12:58:54.636-08:002011-11-29T12:58:54.636-08:00Ha!
