Why, oh why, do I know this??? ;)Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-1249262972392265732011-02-12T21:12:12.385-08:002011-02-12T21:12:12.385-08:00FF1's white mage is totally a he, replete flow...FF1's white mage is totally a he, replete flowing red Fabio hair. I just meant that the combo of the white mage/wizard sprites are the most ambiguous overall, and along with that most likely to be female. Does that make any sense?Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-26012308318397074452011-02-11T21:24:40.453-08:002011-02-11T21:24:40.453-08:00It's funny that we assign femininity to ambigu...It's funny that we assign femininity to ambiguity.Viewtiful_Justinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12987909785863469591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-31715520674561505892011-02-11T09:43:56.736-08:002011-02-11T09:43:56.736-08:00You're right, anonymous, although I don't ...You're right, anonymous, although I don't think this tradition began until after the Famicom/NES versions of Final Fantasy were released. These first versions didn't really apply a gender to *any* of the main characters, although it's clear some of them are supposed to be male. The white mage/wizard is the most ambiguous, in my mind, and the most likely to be a female.Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20740650.post-24844806348183038562011-02-10T21:13:35.654-08:002011-02-10T21:13:35.654-08:00It's pretty much FF tradition to make white ma...It's pretty much FF tradition to make white mages female. Although, the black wizard sprite definitely is a bit masculine.

I've never thought of the fighter as a butch girl, though. The fighter could be a butch girl, and the black mage is...questionable at best.Viewtiful_Justinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12987909785863469591noreply@blogger.com
