I guess you could use one per day--switching them out at the end of each night--and waltz around town telling all the gawkers, "Oh, this? This is the Final Fantasy keychain I use on the sixth of every month. Wait until you see tomorrow's!"
Or you could do what most people who wind up buying a set will do in the end--which is keep them boxed up in the back of your closet. (No hate--I'd do the same!)
Should you want to buy them anyway, head on over to shopncsx.com sometime between now and late September and plop down a pre-order.
Eh...I love the idea, but it's not worth $117.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure these are "meant" for individual sale via blind-box or something like that, and NCSX is just doing us a "favor" by eliminating the element of chance.. I bet there will be places selling them individually, but it'll be harder to know what you're getting.
ReplyDeleteAlso re: boxed up in your closet, this is the sad fate of the VOOT keychain set I took great pains to nearly complete (I'm sure I had Striker!) back in the day. Le Sigh!
Yeah. I mean, I'm pretty sure I'd still hem and haw if the set were $50. Still, a nice idea.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, you're probably right, Michael. In such a case, the price makes a little more sense, as surely you'd spend more than that buying them 'loose.' Still, it's too pricey for me to seriously consider :|
ReplyDeleteI feel guilty for wanting these, especially because they're from All the Bravest, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteMy other thought on these, is how easy it would be to create your own. You wouldn't have the fancy metal backing but with a bit of shrinky dink paper and a little time you could have any sprite you wanted... ...is it arts and crafts time?! http://www.littleteacup.net/?page_id=528
ReplyDeleteThe shrinky dink idea is a good one, Michael, but I have to say I'd prefer the fancy metal backing, if possible :(
ReplyDeleteI think that's how we all feel, VGJunk--or at least that's how we all SHOULD feel :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with every word of the title :P
ReplyDeleteWell, then, my work here is done! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what I'd do with 29 Final Fantasy keychains: I'd decorate the most awesome and religiously confused miniature Christmas tree in the office.
ReplyDeleteAh, now THERE'S an idea, Terry! The question is: does this mean you're going to buy 'em and follow through on that idea? ;)
ReplyDeleteNo way. That's way too expensive for my taste. lol
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess. I really have to wonder how many will take them up on this particular offer...
ReplyDeleteThey're cute, really cute. I'd love to have a couple, but let's face it they'd hang around your keys and you'd forget about them most of the time. Even if I was rich I couldn't justify spending that much!
ReplyDeleteI suppose they'd be good for flirting with other geeks, y'no one of those accessories that say "Yes I really am this awesome baby", I once met a guy with a thunderstone necklace, dammmn.
Yes, you're right, Josef. But I don't want to be practical all the time! :P
