Orioto x Final Fantasy VII

True story: I've only spent about a week of my life playing Squaresoft's (as Square Enix was known at the time) Final Fantasy VII.

This happened back when I was a freshman or sophomore in college, by the way. I used to rent a PlayStation system plus a game or two from a nearby Blockbuster (if memory serves) on a fairly regular basis, and on one occasion Final Fantasy VII was my chosen pick-up.

Oddly, I barely remember anything about this 32-bit RPG other than liking the rather chunky look of its protagonists (in the overworld segments, at least) and its soundtrack.

Which means, of course, that I'm going to have to buy a copy at some point and give it a proper playthrough. Maybe after I finally get a Vita?

In the meantime, I'll have to make do with staring at Orioto's Final Fantasy VII-inspired poster, seen on the right.

Should you want to own one of these posters, by the way, you can do so by heading to redbubble.com. Don't dawdle, though, as apparently Orioto's only selling 50 of them (at $16.20 a pop).

To see more of Orioto's art, check out his deviantart gallery.

  1. I think it would be a good option for Vita. It's nice being able to remap controls, adjust your screen size, or just put the machine to sleep when you need a break. FF7, 8 and 9 have permanent homes on my memory card.

  2. Plus, Terry, the PSN version surely is a LOT cheaper than the CIB copies I encountered the last time I looked for them on eBay (which, admittedly, was about a year ago).

BTW, you've just reminded me that I have an unopened copy of FF9 that's been begging to be played for AGES. Gah :|

  3. FF9 is another game that really shines on Vita. I started playing it a few months back and stalled out. I need to go back to it.

  4. I've heard a lot of good things about FF IX so far--especially from folks who are like me and really liked FF IV, V and VI. I've also heard, though, that battles can drag on, which honestly is why I've avoided it until now. Still, I want to play it, so why not sometime soon?

  6. Is your first time playing through FF VI? If so, what do you think about it so far?

And have you played FF IV and FF V, too? Because if not, I highly recommend both of them.

As for me, yes, I've both played a finished FF VI--a few times, in fact. It's one of my all-time favorite games--along with FF V, actually.

  7. Wow, that poster is very impressive. But the 33"x47" one costs about $44.

  8. However the fanboyism among FF fans gets out of hand, man. Like, they're super fanboyish and it's embarrassing.
