FYI: I'm still pretty darn keen on Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley (3DS)

Actually, I'm now more interested in this upcoming 3DS title than I was previously thanks to the trailer that can be viewed below.

Sure, the game still looks like an old Nintendo 64 or PlayStation game, but that's a big part of its appeal, in my humble opinion.

Also, I just think the Minecraft-esque gameplay that's been crammed into this iteration of the long-running series--which was made by the folks at Natsume rather than by creator Yasuhiro Wada and his crew at Marvelous--looks like a lot of fun.

Are any of you also planning to pick up The Lost Valley after it hits the streets (and eShop) of North America on Nov. 4  or after it finally makes its way to Europe?

  1. It looks like fun. I plan to buy it from the eShop, but not right away. I'll still be hip-deep in Fantasy Life on the 4th, with Pokemon and Dragon Age: Inquisition on the way.

  2. That's good to hear, Terry! I'd buy it day one, but Fantasy Life is going to make me broke for a couple of weeks. So, I'll just get The Lost Valley sometime in December, I think.

  3. Here is the US Cover. It's very middle school book fair, fantasy, paperback novel cover style.

  5. Less Giger influence but, not bad I say.

  6. I'm just going to skip to the future and buy it for my niece :-p Can't take it from me if I just buy it for her or something like that...

  7. Oh, right! Sorry, I've been busy and sick for the last two-plus weeks, so my brain's a bit messed up at the moment XD

  8. Agreed on both accounts. Also, the NA cover reminds me a bit of the early TG16 covers. The good ones, I mean!

  9. Ha! Is that how it usually goes with you and her and such games? :)

Oh God. Not more! November is NaNoWriMo, and I already have Smash Bros WiiU to contend with on the 21st. Fantasy Life comes out soon...and then there's this. And Hyrule Warriors if I ever get that. I'm ready to win that lotto now.

  11. Yeah, November's going to be brutal for a lot of folks who play games, I think. Not for me, though, as the only game I'm planning to buy/play between now and my birthday (late November) is Fantasy Life, which comes out TODAY! In fact, I just checked out Amazon, and my copy is "out for delivery." Ahhhh! Anyway, I probably won't buy The Lost Valley until after my birthday--unless my folks buy it for me, of course, although I think they're more likely to buy me Curtain Call instead...

TODAY?! Yikes. I have to talk myself out of buying it today...I just looked at my bank account and I have a bit more than I thought I did...enough to spend $40 on something I know I'm going to love...but I shouldn't get it this close to NaNoWriMo.

  13. Yep! I believe it's already on the eShop. Anyway, if you *do* pick it up, let me know!

  14. Yes! I'm anticipating her moves. She's only 10 but, she's a master at taking my games and tricking me into being okay with it.

  15. Most definitely. There is an Ys I/II vibe, not as masterful.
