And the winners of The Gay Gamer Giveaway™ (Drop Wizard Edition) are ...

Congratulations to the following trio for winning the Drop Wizard (iOS) codes the folks at Neuronized so kindly sent my way a week or so go:

* Rui
* Nightmare Bruce
* Justin Difazzio

Jeremy and Justin: I'll send your codes to you through Twitter and Facebook, respectively.

As for you, Rui, drop me an e-mail (bochalla at yahoo dot com) at your earliest convenience so I can get a code out to you, too.

Other than that, I'd just like to thank, once again, whoever mans the Neutronized Twitter account for being so kind as to offer up these codes.

  7. Awesome, thanks a million Bryan! It's an interesting game mechanic; I thought that it would be hard to have a platformer with touch screen controls but the mechanic of only firing when you fall from a platform is really clever and makes it more of a puzzle than if you could attack at any time.

  8. Oh! I was wondering about this game's mechanics, Jeremy. Sounds like they work well enough? Also, I'm guessing the game isn't as ... frantic as some Bubble Bobble clones are? Anyway, you're very welcome, and congrats again!

  9. That's right, it tends to have less enemies but require more strategy than Bubble Bobble; since you can only move left and right with no jumping, your chance to attack is when an enemy is on the platform below you (but not in a position where you'll collide with it on the way down). That leads to running from enemies on the same level as you so you can get the drop on them from above, so to speak. It's a gameplay style I haven't seen before.

  10. Oh, that sounds ... weird. So all you do is move left and right--no jump, no attack button, etc.? If so, weird! I'm not sure I like the sound of it, to be honest, but of course I'll check it out if and when I ever get an iOS device :)

  11. Sadly I do not :-( Much too dark to take good photos, so I left the camera in its bag for that particular day trip while in Japan.

    But if you ever wind up in Japan I highly recommend Joypolis. A lot of fun.

  12. Oh, I'll definitely wind up in Japan, Matt. There's no question of that! I have a feeling that trip's still a few years out, though, sadly :(

  16. Granted, I don't have the $5,000 (or whatever) that would be needed for me to accomplish that feat!
