Nintendo of America revealed the art that will grace the cover of its upcoming Wii release, Kirby's Return to Dream Land, a few days ago, and guess what? It features yet another example of "Angry Kirby"!
How much do you want to bet that the Japanese box art for the game--it'll be known as Hoshi no Kirby Wii in the Land of the Rising Sun, by the way--will be exactly the same, minus Kirby's silly scowl? (Oh, and minus the English, too.)
Anyway, the much-anticipated--by me, at least--Kirby's Return to Dream Land will hit North American store shelves on Oct. 24. (Pre-order it here. Also, pre-order the little pink puffball's next DS outing, Kirby Mass Attack, here.)
Europeans, on the other hand, will gain access to the title--which will be called Kirby's Adventure Wii (confusing, right?)--sometime in December, while Japanese gamers will get it ... sometime between now and the end of the year, I guess.

I am certainly heavily anticipating this one too! :D
... and I kinda like the scowl in this context, geographical art designations aside.
Hey there, NintendoLegend! NIce to hear that someone else is looking forward to this one, too :) The Wii sure has been a great place for platformers, hasn't it?
Anyway, yes, the scowl is OK in this context, IMO. It's even OK on the cover of Kirby Mass Attack. I just think it's kind of funny/silly overall :P
Kirby seems to be Nintendo's number one IP at the moment! And to think I've barely played any of his games. Oops! :P I guess with this cover they're trying to give him some 'attitude' for us manly Western gamers who wouldn't dream of playing a game starring a non-tough character :|
Don't feel too bad, Simon, I've only played a handful of Kirby games myself. In fact, I've played just the first NES game (Kirby's Adventure), Kirby Canvas Curse for the DS and Kirby's Epic Yarn, as far as I can remember. I definitely need to try some of the others sooner rather than later.
Anyway, yes, the folks at NOA (and likely NOE, too) are obsessed with making it seem as though Kirby has 'attitude,' which is more than a bit silly if you ask me.
Nice, another Kirby game. I hope it will be great.
From the looks of it, Battlefield Gamer Joe, I think it will be! Will you be getting it? Also, did you play Kirby's Epic Yarn?
I'm way excited. The angry Kirby thing, though, I never noticed until you pointed it out on this site, Bryan. I still think it's way strange...
And, for the record, I love the title of this one. It's about time he returned to Dreamland.
Has he not been in Dreamland (or, Dream Land, ugh) in a while, Justin? I honestly didn't know!
As for 'Angry Kirby,' I'm glad I could shine a light on that particular curiosity for a few people :)
