The name, while strange, seemed fitting considering the colorful ball that sits atop the controller. I'm guessing that in the end it was a bit too "girly" for Sony's head honchos.
What moniker are they kicking around now? According to the folks at engadget.com (via vg247.com), the controller's current code name is "Arc."
I'm not feelin' it, to tell you the truth, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. What do you guys and gals think of the name--and the controller itself?

I read the title and then I went on to look at other things for a moment while it loaded. And then I groaned aloud because the reference to JEM finally hit me. Oh man...way to go!
And, personally, I think it looks like a sex toy. I'd be embarassed to leave that sitting on my coffee table.

As for the controller looking like a sex toy -- I have to agree. I guess the ball needs to be there, but, man, it sure makes the device as a whole look silly.
It'll be interesting to see what the masses think of it when it's finally released later this year.
