Let's Play: 'Which Box Art is Better?' (Catherine edition)

Actually, this edition of "Which Box Art is Better?" really should be titled "Which Box Art is Best?" as it includes four (rather than two) different illustrations--all of which will appear on North American covers of Atlus' upcoming PS3 and Xbox 360 puzzler-platformer, Catherine.

Here, for instance, is the image that will grace the cover of the "regular" PS3 release of the game:

Gamers who consider that piece of box art to be a bit too risqué will be able to buy this "alternate" version (through Amazon.com) instead:

Xbox 360 owners will be presented with a pair of box art options, too, with the one below being the regular release:

And this one being the alternate (pre-order it here):

After much consideration, I have to admit that I like the regular PS3 cover the best, followed by the regular Xbox 360 cover. As far as the alternate covers are concerned: Once again, I prefer the PS3 iteration to its Xbox 360 counterpart.

Which one is your favorite?

I'm with you on this one. Definitely.

I feel kind of silly for preferring the regular PS3 one... I mean, that corkscrew hair is so strange! However, I prefer that one and I think it's cuter that Vincent is falling into her bust rather than him crawling up to a butt in the 360 version.

The alternate covers, neh. If you're gonna get the game just go all out! :3

Yay! Both of you agree with me :)

Marcus: I agree about the alternate covers. I mean, yes, the regular covers are a bit silly, but I can't imagine being embarrassed to buy or own them.

I'll be the odd man out on this one. I personally prefer the regular Katherine(360) boxart above the rest. It's just the look on her face, and the way her body is positioned that just does it to me. Plus, Vincent clinging to her shirt holding on for dear life just has me in stitches.

Thanks for your input, DemiHuman123! Honestly, you can't go wrong with either of the "regular" covers, in my opinion :)

I think both of the "altered" covers are much better. I realize the game is meant to present itself as slutty and gross and that's pretty cool, but their faces are so cool without seeing the awkward poses they are in.

Btw just found this site, I'm a Bisexual gamer myself with a blog, hi! :)

Hey there, Trxd! Thanks for visiting this blog -- and for leaving a comment :)

Anyway, I hear what you're sayin', even though I prefer the "slutty" covers :) The illustrations are nice regardless, aren't they?

I'll check out your blog now, BTW. Hope you come back to this one!

Yeah, I really like the art style a lot, especially that first girl, the pose in the unedited version looks so demonic somehow!

I've subscribed :D It's awesome how much you post! I wish I had the brain capacity to post about things that much ;P

And thanks for checking out my blog too x

Well, thanks for subscribing! Hopefully you'll enjoy what I post :)

I guess I do post quite a bit, eh? I like to write and I have a lot to say, so I guess that's the reason for it :)

Anyway, thanks again for visiting and commenting. I'll be sure to do the same on your blog!
