Drew Green's 'Sakura vs. Shuma-Gorath'

I could hardly be called the world's biggest fan of fighting games. In fact, I don't think I've played one since, oh, the 1996 release of the Sega Saturn version of Street Fighter Alpha, I think?

Although I haven't played a fighting game since before the turn of the century, I continue to be attracted to the genre--mainly because of its typically wacky casts of characters.

Case in point: Marvel vs. Capcom 3's Sakura and Shuma-Gorath, both of whom are colorfully and deliciously depicted in the Drew Green illustration below.

Yeah, Sakura's one of my favourites, hooray! :P I love 2D fighting games but not 3D ones so much, so the Street Fighter series is one of my favourites. Nice picture too...

Oh, I'm with you, Simon -- I pretty much only like 2D fighting games at this point, although I used to like Virtua Fighter quite a bit...

You've got me beat. MKII was the last one I played. I mean...if you don't count Smash Bros.

Oh, that's true, Justin -- I did play Smash Bros. Brawl for a bit after I bought it a few years ago. Let's just pretend it doesn't count :)

As for MK -- I don't remember the last MK game I played. Maybe the first? Whew, that was a long time ago!
