Whether it's coral, misty or pearl (pink), I want it!

I don't know about you, but I find it kind of funny how Nintendo's marketers alter, from region to region, the adjectives they attach to the colors of their company's handheld game systems.

Take the pink 3DS that hit store shelves throughout North America earlier today. When systems drenched in the very same color were released in Japan in late October, they were called "misty pink," and when those systems hit the streets in Europe last month, they were called "coral pink."

I'm not sure what verbiage they'll use to describe North American 3DSes covered with this particular shade of pink, but if the DS Lite and DSi XL are any indication they'll probably call it "pearl" or "rose" or something rather matronly like that.

Regardless, I want one. Here's hoping my parents didn't already buy me a flame red one for Christmas--or that they're willing to return it for a coral/misty/pearl pink one.

It certainly is an odd phenomena...

Anyways, your parents must be super sweet to buy you a 3DS for Christmas, and be conscious of the color! I told my mom I wanted to wait until a good color came out but I still ended up with one of the teal ones ;) She doesn't understand how important a handheld's color is to me! (I kid)

Regardless what color you get, I can't wait to play some Mario Kart 7 together!

Hey there, Anne! Honestly, I wasn't even going to ask them for one -- I was planning to buy one on my own after my birthday or after Christmas. My dad, though, brought it up during a recent phone call -- during which, of course, I had to stammer out something like, "Well, yeah, I'd definitely like one, but, uh, I really only want the pink one. Or maybe the red one, if the pink one is going to be released." Luckily, they're well aware of my "peculiarities" when it comes to gaming, so they've been *very* sweet about putting up with my e-mails about the fate of the pink 3DS :)

Anyway, other than that -- YES, I'm looking forward to playing Mario Kart 7 together, too! Maybe I'll have to make a community or something, if there are enough people who would want one?

Do you have your copy yet, BTW? Or are you hoping to get it for Christmas or sometime shortly after?

Hooray for pink!! I would love for you to build a community of racers, Bryan!

OK, Justin, I'll consider it once I finally get a 3DS and a copy of Mario Kart 7. Sooooooo, probably around Dec. 26 or 27? :)

After all, everyone needs a 3DS that matches the colour of their blog! I'm personally loving the Zelda special edition.

Yes, Lucy, you're right! As for the Zelda edition: That one's great, too. Do you have one, or are you planning on getting one?

BTW, Lucy, welcome to this blog! Also, I noticed you have a blog, too -- very nice. I especially like the name. I'll do my best to check in regularly :)

There are two LGBTQ communities in MK7 that I have seen:

43-2417-3100-1872
53-8717-7515-1771

Can't wait to see you guys there!

I should mention that only one of them actually has anyone who plays. I'm pretty sure it's the second one.

Thanks, Kevin! I'll be sure to check them out when I finally get a 3DS and a copy of this game. Hopefully one of them will happen tomorrow :)
