I'm going to be really bummed if Guild01 isn't brought to the States

Don't worry, I'm fully prepared to be bummed--especially after seeing the game's completely WTF-ish Japanese box art.

Even if it sported a better cover image, though, I'm not sure I could see too many North Americans buying Level-5's four-game compilation should it actually see the light of day here.

That's too bad, because the quartet of commercials below make Guild01's contents seem pretty compelling:

(Here's another commercial, featuring the same snippets of gameplay, in case any of you are especially curious.)

Personally, the Guild01 title that I'm drooling over the most is Yoshiyuki Hirai's Rental Bukiya de Omasse, which tasks players with crafting weapons and then renting them to various heroes.

Of course, the other three games that are included in this omnibus release--Yasumi Matsuno's Crimson Shroud, Yoot Saito's Air Porter and Goichi Suda's Liberation Maiden--sound awfully cool, too.

Anyway, here's hoping someone (Level-5? Atlus? Aksys? XSEED?) decides to bring Guild01 to North America--and to other regions, too--in some form or fashion.

Three of those games seem like great fun! Airporter looks like a mind bender of a puzzle game.

If not a full retail release in North America, then maybe - just maybe - there's a place for some of these games in the eShop. We can always hope...

It would be quite nice if they would/could bring it over to the eShop, preferably with each of the games as a standalone title.. I'm really intrigued by Crimson Shroud (huge Pen & Paper fan ;>) and somewhat intrigued by the smithing one, if there's more than just the smithing and the store elements require some strategy and all, then I'd be all sold..

But the other two... especially the shooter... not so much what I enjoy playing. :/

Justin: Which game doesn't sound fun to you? Crimson Shroud?

I agree, BTW, that Air Porter looks and sounds very interesting, even though I'm not at all sure how the hell it's supposed to work.

Anyway, here's hoping these games are at least released via the eShop in regions outside of Japan...

DavidR: Yeah, that's my thinking, too. I can see why the devs would want a retail release, though -- I just think more people buy physical games these days than digital ones, esp. when we're talking about Nintendo systems.

miruki: Yeah, it would be nice if the smithing one required some strategy when it comes to the store elements, etc. Sadly, I don't know if that's the case or not. I guess we'll find out soon!

Also, yes, hopefully these will be released the eShop at the very least. I'm going to hold out hope for a full physical release, though.

Yeah, hopefully someone like XCEED will pick this up. Although, Crimson Shroud needs some physical stuff to work right? That might hamper localization chances...

Hmmm, I haven't heard anything about Crimson Shroud needing physical stuff to work, chaosyoshimage. Are you sure about that?

Should that info be true, yes, I suppose it would hurt this game's localization chances. Ugh, let's hope it's not true and it's brought out here sooner rather than later...

Nah. The first one doesn't look like my kind of thing.

Ah, you and me both! I actually think the graphics of that one look OK, but the gameplay isn't really my thing. Oh, well!

Jeremy Parish mentions in this article about figures being used with the AR in a manner similar to Skylanders.

Hmmm, that's interesting. This is the first I've heard of the game including AR elements/functionality. Seems like a strange idea overall, doesn't it -- considering Crimson Shroud is one of four games included in Guild01? I'd only expect this sort of thing if Crimson Shroud were released all by itself.
