Animal Crossing x Disney? Consider me (surprisingly) intrigued ...

Although no one could ever confuse me for a Disney fanatic, I can't help but be intrigued by a Disney-themed game that'll soon be released (only in Japan, for the time being) for the 3DS.

The game in question: Namco-Bandai's Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life, which will hit Japanese store shelves on July 11.

Based on the trailer belowDisney Magic Castle: My Happy Life appears to include elements of both Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon--with a bit of Fantasy Life's battles thrown in for good measure.

Oh, and according to tinycartridge.com, the game will feature over 80 Disney characters more than 1,000 collectible items. (Click on the link above if you'd like to catch a glimpse of the Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life-branded 3DS LL that also will be released on July 11.)

After watching the trailer above, are any of you curious about this title, too, or am I alone this time around?

I think we'll get it over here, right? I can't think of any recent Disney games that stayed Japan only at least...looks like it could be fun.

By the way, I ended up changing the location of my blog that you so kindly link to...can you change the name/url for simply awful to ribbon black (ribbonblack.blogspot.com) please? Thanks!

I can't imagine this won't be released here. Assuming it is, it'll be interesting to see how it does--as I imagine that, if promoted properly, it could sell quite well in the States, especially.

Oh, and thanks for letting me know about the new URL for your blog! I'll update it now.

If it's a decent game and not just there to make a quick buck I'll definitely check it out. My parents raised me on Disney films so I'm attached to quite a few of the characters. But between Animal Crossing, Fantasy Life (I'm still hopeful for a NA release), and this, I wonder if I'll get a little tired of the genre.

Yes, of course you're right, Vaati--it has to be a quality game for me to even consider checking it out should it be released here.

Also, I agree that it may be a hard sell for a lot of folks (myself included) should Fantasy Life be released here, too--and I certainly hope it will be!

Wow, the Donald Duck costume the MC had on was WAY cute ... but didn't see any Dumbo anywhere.
It looks like fun, I'm all about stuff where you can dress up (>w<)

WTF?! Disney is an American company and we STILL get shafted on something like this?! I hope it comes stateside (even though it should have been released here first). It looks way fun! I'm not a Disney fanboy or anything, but still...looks like my kind of thing.

Hey there, Triseratops! Yeah, it does look fun at the moment, I think. It'll be interesting to see how it all turns out, though, as we all know 'broad' games like this can be hit or miss in the end :|

I'll be shocked if it's not released here, Justin. Like you suggested, it would be a no-brainer--and likely a sure-fire hit for whichever company publishes it. I wonder, though, if we'll get the limited edition XL as well, or if that'll remain a Japan-only product?

Hmmmm, it looks kinda cute but I'm not really sure what I think about it. But there's one thing I know:
It's nothing in comparison to Animal Crossing New Leaf.

Oh, we'll never get the custom 3DS.

You're probably right :( Not that I personally want it, but I'm sure there are a lot of folks out there who do.

I need to know quite a bit more about it before I decide if it's worth owning or not. At the moment, though, I'm at least intrigued. Oh, and I agree that right now, especially, it's nothing in comparison to New Leaf, Lizzi. Of course, what is?
