Aino's (and Bryan's) Adventures in Animachi, Weeks 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17

You'd think more would've happened in the five weeks since I last published one of these posts, wouldn't you?

Actually, more did happen, but I decided to edit things down a bit for a few reasons--one of which has to do with my hard drive dying on me with little warning a week and a half ago.

Thankfully, all of that's behind me and my laptop now, so I can get back to the business of recounting the soap opera-esque lives of Aino and Bryan and their fellow Animachians.

Before we get to the drama, though, how about we traipse through a few of the previously unseen rooms in Aino's sprawling home?

For instance, here's the speakeasy-ish cafe-slash-coffee house that's located in Aino's basement.

Only those who know the secret handshake--and slip Aino a fiver at the door--are allowed entrance.

And here's a look at Aino's new--and rather garish--guest bedroom:

A pretty daring use of the Lovely and Polka-Dot furniture series, don't you think? Or did the design work here bring to mind another d-word--like "dreadful"?

Finally, here's an updated look at Aino's study:

Actually, this room has received a bit of an overhaul in the last week or so--a bit of which can be seen in the following photo (which focuses on the golden house model the mayor received for reaching 150,000 Happy Home Academy points).

Another new piece of decor that can be found in Aino's home:

Yep, that's Barold's picture. Which means all Aino needs is Snake's photo to complete her collection. (OK, so she needs to nab Rodney's and Rizzo's pics, too--but Barold's and Snake's are her Holy Grails.)

Speaking of Rodney's photo--that's exactly what Bryan obtained just over a week ago.

Of course, Bryan had to rub Rodney's bunions to make it happen, so you can't really say he got it without a good bit of effort.

I know I suggested earlier that there was a bit of drama to discuss in this "Adventures in Animachi" post, but the truth is the only dramatic moments of the last few weeks had to do with various move-ins and move-outs.

Robin was the first to leave Animachi--and was the main source of the village's drama during weeks 13 through 17. The screenshot below makes it seem like it was a lighthearted affair, but shortly after he moved away he sent Aino a letter whose envelope had been sealed with bird poop.

As such, Aino expected the worst when Winnie followed suit just about a week later. Thankfully, her fears were unfounded. In fact, Winnie's follow-up letters to both Bryan and Aino included snapshots of herself.

Sure, they smelled a bit of carrots and hay (OK, and dried saliva, too), but only the rudest of the rude would mention such a thing.

Just as Animachi was getting used to being a Robin- and Winnie-free zone, the odd-looking (and odd-smelling, it has to be said) Chadder set down roots, so to speak, just a few paces from Poppy's house.

Both Bryan and Aino like him well enough so far despite his cheesy humor and scent, although neither of them are all that stoked to have two rodents as neighbors (three, if you count Rodney) at the moment.

With all of that out of the way, expect to see another "Adventures in Animachi" post published in the next two, rather than three, weeks.

Unless, of course, my hard drive decides to die on me again--in which case you can expect to see nothing more than posts containing "AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" for at least a few days (if not an entire month).

Butch returned to Dunwich to hang out near the stores for a few days. It was fun seeing him again.

I finally got the department store after buying everything at Nook's for a few days to get over the 100k goal and prompt Gracie's fourth visit.

Thanks, Jeremy! I have a lot of fun decorating my characters' homes in these games.

As for Gracie and her lazy, lazy ways: she really takes her time, doesn't she? I think it's been over a month since she last visited. Gah! I want my final shop upgrade already, dammit!

Finally, enjoy Winnie. I really liked her, even if she isn't the most interesting looking horse villager. (You know, like Peaches, or that unicorn.)

I'm not sure if there's a bell threshold for each visit, but it takes 100k for the last upgrade. I went a few weeks between the third and final visits because I hadn't hit the mark yet.

When I went to his AC town one time we talked about Pokemon X/Y he told me that he planed to get one version at retail and download the other. I just hope those were extras of the starters he gave me,

I'm guessing they were. Can't you breed Pokemon in this game?

I bought both games and used the 2DS to get all the starters pretty fast and transfer them over. The Pokemon Daycare is early in, so I started breeding new ones.

I so love hearing about your AC adventures. I haven't touched AC in...a month? More? Yeah...I'm a bad mayor.

Ah, that makes sense! Very nice of you :)

Bad mayor! Bad!! Just kidding. I think people have walked away from it by now, or are at least playing it a bit less than they were. I'm still plugging away, although I, too, am playing it quite a bit less.
