Edea's sax-filled special-move theme ('Baby Bird') in Bravely Default is my everything

Seriously, take a listen to it in all its '80s-sitcom-inspired, porn-tastic glory and then try to tell me it isn't the most fabulous tune in all of gaming:

That's not to suggest the other special-move themes that appear in Bravely Default stink, of course. On the contrary, I think all of them are pretty rad. (You can listen to them here, if you'd like.)

Edea's really takes the cake, though, in my opinion. (Even this vocalized version.) Or maybe I should say it takes the cheesecake?

Yeah, I think the characters are surprisingly well fleshed out in this game. And like you said, most of them are pretty darn funny, too! Honestly, I wish the person/people who wrote and edited this game had worked on Attack of the Friday Monsters. Or maybe they did?!?

You know, I remember nothing about Megaman X, Justin, although I know my brother and I owned it back in the day and played it quite a bit. (Or at least my brother played it quite a bit. I remember not liking the aesthetics so much myself.) Anyway, YES, this song definitely is gloriously overdone. I LOVE IT!

No its not that, I did enjoy it. It had a certain cute charm to it.
Out of the GUILD01 so far, Crimson Shroud is my absolute fave! The look, the gameplay and especially the music!!
The others don't really interest me apart from Weapon Shop.

I really have to get back to Crimson Shroud. Played a few hours of it long ago but then some other game pulled me away from it.

Anyway, I'm also not entirely interested in the other Guild games, although part of me wants to buy Starship Damrey whenever it's on sale...

I don't know about the porntastic but it is very Charles in Charge sounding. Hilarious observation & it is great music.

Well, I tend to equate sax-heavy music--especially music that sounds like it belongs in an '80s or '90s sitcom--with porn, but it's quite possible that's just me :)

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought it sounded sitcomy. It's also my favorite of the special move themes with Love's Vagrant as a close 2nd. Though when it comes to vocal versions Love's Vagrant comes 1st. Another song in the game I really like is the 2nd airship theme. While on the subject of Revo I would suggest checking out the Attack on Titan opening themes since he composed both.

While I'm enjoying the story feel there's a lot to improve upon for Bravely Second in that aspect. I feel some areas of the story aren't told to their full potential such Agnes living a closeted life for most of her life with most of what she knows coming from religion and then being forced out of her closeted lifestyle and learning some of her beliefs might not be the truth.

Which one is Love's Vagrant, Sam? I mean, which character's theme is that? I really like all of the special-move themes, to be honest, although of course Edea's is my favorite.

Also, thanks for the Attack on Titan recommendation. I'll go give it a listen shortly!

Bravely Second is going to be very interesting, IMO, Sam. I'm clearly enjoying this game enough to buy and play its sequel, but I have to say that if Bravely Second continues some of BD's missteps, I may not be interested in a third game, etc.

Like I've said before, I really think this game could've used a better editor--and not just in terms of its story and other writing, but in terms of pacing, etc.

I mean, it's such a beautiful game, and the battle engine is great, but in my mind it still falters, overall, when compared to similar games like Final Fantasy V and The 4 Heroes of Light, both of which I consider to be much "tighter" and more focused games.
