Looks like the Metroid-esque Xeodrifter will be my first Renegade Kid game

I guess it may surprise some of you that I've yet to buy any of Renegade Kid's previous releases--such as Dementium: The Ward, Moon, Mutant Mudds or Planet Crashers--but the fact is that I've never been a fan of first-person shooters (which explains my of interest in Dementium and Moon) and until this game I've never been much of a fan of this Texas-based developer's character designs (see Mutant Mudds and Planet Crashers).

Renegade Kid's latest effort, Xeodrifter, however, is a Metroid-esque side-scroller--see the trailer above for evidence of that fact--that stars an attractive-enough protagonist, so for the moment, at least, I'm planning to pick it up whenever it finally finds its way onto the 3DS eShop--assuming it's priced appropriately, of course.

Yeah, Renegade Kid's work never did much for me either, but I'll give this game a fair shake. What the heck, I'm always up for a Metro-vania!

Me, too, Jess. Here's hoping it's priced nicely/appropriately...

I'd probably buy this while I pine away quietly for a new Samus adventure. I bought Dementium and Moon for the DS; I didn't beat them, but I was impressed at what they managed to squeeze out of the hardware.

It's interesting that you bring up pining for a new Metroid game, Terry. I wonder if we'll ever get one? A 2D one, I mean. I have a feeling we'll at least get another 3D one someday, though...

Oh, I agree that they seem to be trying to keep her in the public consciousness, and that gives me some amount of hope, too.

Ooooh. This is beautiful. I hadn't seen anything about this yet. Count me in!

Great! Have you played any of Renegade Kid's previous games, Justin?

Renegade Kid games are hit or miss for most people. Very little opinion in the middle it seems. They are fun just not very memorable. Their avoidance of printing carts annoys me to no end. This looks fun but, not fun enough to make a deal with the devil, err Shop.

Sounds to me like it may be a good thing that they're averse to printing carts--if their games aren't very memorable, I mean!
