So, is Muscle March worth $5?

The folks over at TheHanafudaTimes.com sure seem to think so:

"Despite being absolutely ridiculous, this game is actually one of WiiWare’s more entertaining titles: Not something I can say for most games priced at 500 points," writes reviewer prettymanfairy. "If you’re into the WTF genre, don’t let this game get away."

Having spent some quality time with Muscle March, I have to agree--both that the game is entertaining (and ridiculous) and that it fits squarely into the "WTF genre," as prettymanfairy so creatively calls it.

Does that mean it's worth 500 Nintendo points ($5)? I think so--if you're a fan of other WTF-esque games like Katamari Damacy and WarioWare: Smooth Moves.

One more thing to think about before you hit the "buy" button: Muscle March is fun, but the fun is over fast. I'm OK with that, as I have the attention span of a goldfish, but if you're a more dedicated gamer you may feel a bit ripped off.

It's fun, but essentially broken.

The pose gestures don't register well enough OR fast enough for me. I crash into walls when holding the ocrrect pose more often than my rage can contain. But before RAGEQUIT sets in, it's a blast!

I would have spent more time with it when I bought it (yesterday), but Rhythm Heaven came in the mail the same day. I was (and still am) bopping along with those tunes...

Oh no! I'm sorry you haven't had a good experience with it so far.

Are you using big/broad gestures? I've found that small gestures (flicks of the wrist, really) are registered quite well - at least in my fairly limited playthrough.

Also, I hold each pose right until the next one is revealed (if that makes sense). So, if the pose is the "Hulk-like" one (both arms down), I hold them there until I can see the next pose. Keeps me from feeling like I'm flailing around.

So, you bought Rhythm Heaven, huh? Are you're enjoying it?

I enjoy Muscle March; it's just a little bit broken. :-) And yes. I am enjoying Rhythm Heaven very much!

Enjoying Rhythm Heaven is much more important than enjoying Muscle March, so I'd say you're in a good spot :)
