I'm a sucker with a capital 's'

Or maybe I should say "with a capital 'f.'"

After all, I just purchased the last chapter of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years--which means I spent $37 ($8 for the first chapter, $21 for the next seven chapters and $8 for the last chapter) on the game when all was said and done.

Although I've enjoyed the journey so far (I just started Yang's tale), I'm not sure it's worth $37--especially when the original can be picked up (via the Wii Shop Channel) for the bargain-basement price of $8.

Have any of you given Final Fantasy IV: The After Years a go? If so, what do you think about it?

I just bought FF2 on the virtual console when it came out TODAY!!! So, I played the first few hours and then realized I needed to do something productive with my day. Still no luck there. :-P I can't wait until Thursday when no one is home all day and I can just sit down and bang it out in one sitting.

Oh, I'm glad to hear you bought FF2! Let me know what you think of it after you've spent some more time with it, will you?

I know how much you love FF3/6, so one word of warning for you: Don't expect it to be as good as FF3/6. FF2/4 is a good/great game, but it just can't stack up to its sequel in many areas.

That said, I actually like FF2/4 better in some ways. I think it's because I feel FF3/6 gets a little long-winded near the end. FF2/4 seems a bit more succinct or something.

Well, it seems to be moving along at a good clip. They're fond of killing people off, that's for sure.

Oh, yes, that should have been my second piece of advice to you: Don't get *too* attached to most of the characters :(
