Well, this has to be a first ...

Once I "beat" a game, it's usually banished to the back of my collection until I can muster up enough interest to tackle it again. (A rare occurrence, to be completely honest.)

As such, it's kind of blowing my mind that I'm still spending time with Kirby's Epic Yarn--a game I conquered a couple of weeks ago.

I'd like to say that the challenge of getting a gold ranking on every stage--along with the challenge of finding the three treasures hidden in each level--is responsible for my seemingly never-ending love affair with this game, but I think the reason is simpler than that.

Basically, I think the game's charm is what keeps me coming back for more. Also, it's a blast to play. Yes, most stages are a breeze, but that hasn't kept me from returning to some over and over again--even after I've "perfected" them.

I'm sure I'll leave Kirby behind sooner or later--like when I finally pick up Donkey Kong Country Returns--but for now I'm thoroughly enjoying this wonderfully plush and playable platformer.

Wow. You really have been playing it a long time. Gosh...now I want it even more.

Oh, that's too bad, Nuts. Hopefully you'll get both eventually -- if that's what you want!

As for what my husband thinks of the game -- well, I don't think he's ever commented on it, if I can remember correctly. He probably thinks it looks cute, but I doubt he has any interest in playing it.

The only games he's ever liked are the mini-games in Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus, a few of the games in Wii Sports Resort and the Brain Age games for the DS. Literally, those are the only games he's ever shown interest in!

Oh, well, at least he likes those :)

I'm *really* curious to hear what you think of it, Justin! I have a feeling you're going to like it, but you never know! Plus, people like platformers for many reasons -- you may find you don't like how easy it is, or that you don't like its "collectathon" nature. I certainly *hope* you like it, though.

I also can't wait to hear what you think about DKC Returns, as I'm pretty sure you'll get that one before I do.

I kind of love collecty platformers, actually. Fetch-questy, not so much...but collection stuff is TOTALY my bag.

Oh, well, that's good -- 'cause you definitely collect things in Kirby. I'd say there are three main areas of focus in this game: 1) exploring the levels in general, 2) finding the three hidden treasures (pieces of furniture) in each level and 3) collecting enough gems to earn a gold ranking on each level.

It sounds like a perfect blend.

It really is, IMO. I played it for another hour+ late last night and it still had me in awe. I can't wait to hear what you think of it!
