More Kirby in 2011? Yes, please!

You know that Kirby game that the folks at Nintendo have included on their release lists since 2004? (Here's a post about it.) Well, it seems it's going to be released--in Japan, at least--later this year.

Not only did Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata say as much during a press briefing late last week, but a brand-new trailer (below) of the game was posted on the company's website shortly after said briefing.

I'm not sure it looks as charming as Kirby's Epic Yarn, but it certainly looks as fun.

Speaking of long-awaited Wii games that look like a lot of fun, here's a new trailer for Rhythm Tengoku Wii (which also is set for a 2011 release):

Sweeeeeeeeet. I'd totally forgotten about that Kirby game. It looks even more awesome now!

I am curious about how Rhythm Heaven controls on the Wii...

Yeah, the new Kirby definitely looks good. It should please fans of more traditional Kirby games, at the very least.

As for how Rhythm Heaven Wii controls -- no one knows yet. I'm guessing some of the games will be controlled with "waggle," although I'd really like it if there were an option to just use buttons, too.

Ooh, I really look forward to more Kirby games. It's good he doesn't get forgotten as an charachter on the stationary consoles. Even though I liked the DS games with Kirby, it's lovely he can rule the Wii once again. (I haven't even played Epic Yarn yet since it hasn't got to Europe yey, but by the looks and by your word I can tell it's going to be just great.)

Oh, I forgot that you Europeans don't yet have access to Epic Yarn. That sucks! Hopefully it'll be released soon?

Anyway, yes, I agree with you about Kirby console games. The portable versions have been nice, but nothing beats a console Kirby :)

I'm from Europe and I've played Epic Yarn! :) I don't have a Wii but I'd get it if I did :P

So, if you're in Europe and you don't have a Wii, how have you played it??

Haha, I should've mentioned that, huh? :P It was at a retro gaming expo where Nintendo had a small stand featuring this and Goldeneye. I assuming they were advertising imminent releases but maybe not... :O

I'm pretty sure it is supposed to be released soon, RetroKingSimon, so keep at eye out for it!
