In case anyone cares: There *are* challenging opponents in Hot Shots Tennis PSP

Yep, you read that correctly: I just faced my first challenging opponent in Hot Shot Tennis: Get a Grip--a dropshot-obsessed wench (actually, she's more of a spoiled brat) named Amorette.

Anyway, she nearly beat me. She ran out to a 3-1 lead--the match in question was of the first-one-to-win-four-games-is-the-victor variety--before I worked my way back into the set, which ended with me winning 4-3. (Or was it 5-3? I can't remember if I had to win by one or two.)

This isn't Amorette, by the way. It's Bridget, a blond cheerleader.

I'd like to add, by the way, that I beat the little terror while wearing some sort of Elizabethan or Victorian gown. Oh, and I had rose in my hair and a giant ruby ring on my finger.

The customization alone sounds worth playing it for!

Yeah, it's definitely one of the best things about this game, Justin. I'm actually prepping a post about the "five things I love about Hot Shots Tennis PSP" as we speak (er, type), and the game's crazy costumes definitely will be one of the five things I include on that list :)

Shouldn`t you have gotten some sort of handicap for the Victorian gown?

I can tell you that under the Canadian rules for Victorian gown tennis you sure would;)

Ha ha! Yes, I think I should have, Sean. It isn't easy winning a match wearing such a bulky outfit :)

BTW, now I have one of my characters (a girl) wearing a Hawaiian/hula outfit, another wearing a kimono and another (this one's a guy) wearing some sort of "Island dancer" outfit -- which means he's practically naked (except for some sort of wrap around his waist). Hot! ;)

LOL, can you choose what they wear? That is a pretty cool game feature!

Yes, Sean! Basically, every time you beat an opponent you get some sort of outfit or accessory. Also, there's an shop you can go to after a certain point that offers up even more accessories/costumes/outfits. It's kind of wacky :)
