Saucy Peach

You know I consider to be a crying shame? That Princess Peach--Princess Toadstool if you're an old-school (or simply old) gamer like me--has been a playable character in just two Nintendo-developed platformers over the years: The delicious Super Mario Bros. 2 and the dreadful (or at least disappointing) Super Princess Peach.

I bring that up because the piece of fan art above, produced by Drew Green, has me dreaming of another Peach-y platformer. I doubt such a game is going to get the green light anytime soon, but even if it does you know the folks at Nintendo won't make her royal hotness look anywhere near as saucy as she does in the Atlantan's illustration.

I would like Toad as a playable charachter again. His own game would be awesome-o.

Yeah, that would be great, too, Linnea. At least he was playable in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, though, right?

She looks a little like an old tranny truckstop waitress. Hm. I love it. And, honestly, I was more disappointed when Peach wasn't a playable character in New SMB Wii after the credits rolled than I was when they cancelled Earthbound 64.

Oh, a playable Peach in NSMBW would have been awesome, Justin! I wonder how they would have made it work, though? Would Bowser escape after you beat him and saved Peach? Ah, maybe he'd nab Mario and Peach would have to rescue him? That would be great :)

Uh, thanks, anonymous! (Just kidding, I know this is SPAM.)

Well, it'd be nice just to play through getting star coins with her after you rescue her. Unfortunately, the programmers said it would be "too hard to animate her dress". Fucking lazy.

Yeah, that comment about it being too hard to animate her dress was bullsh*t, if you ask me. Oh, well, maybe next time...
