Happy birthday to me!

I originally felt kind of weird mentioning this here, but then I thought, 'If I can't mention my birthday on my own blog, where can I mention it?'

So, there you go. It's my birthday! Yay me :)

What am I doing on this most glorious of days? Well, aside from sitting at my computer ... not much. I've been sick since Wednesday, though, so "not much" is actually preferable to most activities at the moment.

I am doing one fun, game-related thing (besides blogging) while I sit at my computer, by the way: I'm finding all sorts of ways to spend the chunk of change my parents sent me as a birthday gift.

Specifically, I'm buying some of the games (mostly Japanese ones, but not all) that I've been dreaming about for the last few months while I've been broke.

(Note: The cake in the photograph above is a recreation of the birthday cake that appears in the Animal Crossing games. To make one for yourself or someone you love, check out the Gourmet Gaming blog.)

You certainly should mention it here! You don't appear to have your birthday listed on Facebook though :P Happy Birthday my dear blogging friend, I hope you have a fantastic :) Hope you feel better soon too, and I'll be looking forward to future posts about your game-related purchases :)

Oops, that was supposed to say - I hope you have a fantastic day! >.<

Hey there, Simon! My b-day isn't listed on facebook? Are you sure? I'm going to have to check that, as I can't imagine I would have kept that info a secret.

Anyway, thank you kindly for the b-day wishes! I'm having a very nice, relaxing day, all things considered.

As for future posts about my gaming-related purchases: Expect to see them starting in early- to mid-December :)

Bryan Ochalla said...

Oh, an no need for the "oops" -- I knew what you were saying :)

Bryan Ochalla said...

Ah, you were right, by the way -- I had my birthday hidden on facebook. I wonder why? Someone must have convinced me that info should be private. Well, no longer! :P

Happy birthdaaaay! It's a shame you've been under the weather lately, but maybe part of your birthday gift will be that you're no longer sick! :P

Either way, I hope you pick up some sweet games and have a lovely day!

What irony! Today was my mother's birthday, to celebrate its 60 years we took (for the first time) at the Chinese restaurant! : D
Happy Birthday!I hope you had a good day!

Thanks, Marcus! Yeah, it kind of sucks to be sick on your birthday, but, really, it's not so bad -- or it certainly could be worse. I'm just happy I'm healthy in general and that I'm still around to have birthdays :)

I have picked up some sweet games, by the way. I'll start talking about them early- to mid-December, I think :)

Anyway, thanks again, and I hope you're having a nice day, too!

Hey there, Marco! It's your mom's birthday today, too? Cool! And to celebrate you took her to a Chinese restaurant for the first time? How did she like it?

Also, thank you for the b-day wishes. I appreciate them :) Hope you're having a great day, too!

Happy anniversary of your harrowing escape from the womb, Bryan!!

I know how you feel...I've been sick since Monday night...ugh. Hope it clears up and your Japanese purchases ship quickly!

Bryan Ochalla said...

Ha! I love how you put that, Justin :) I'm guessing it was a more harrowing experience for my mom than it was for me, but who knows? Still, it's well worth celebrating :)

Sorry to hear you've been sick since MONDAY, BTW. Ugh. It really sucks to be sick during a holiday weekend, doesn't it? Hopefully both of us are back in tip-top shape by next weekend...

Bryan Ochalla said...

Also: Thank you for the b-day wishes in general, Justin! i meant to say that in the last comment, but forgot :(

Happy Birthday, and a robust, hearty 'get well soon' sentiment. I hope there's many hours of internet-based shopping awesomeness to tide your over out of sickness.

Did you score any notable deals for Black Friday? I mean, your birthday coming up must've been a fine excuse to go wild with the auld credit card.

Adam said...

I should have guessed that was from Animal Crossing. Neat!

Happy Birthday!

Bryan Ochalla said...

Hey there, Jyr! Thank you both for the b-day wishes and the 'get well soon' wishes. I appreciate both :)

As for Black Friday deals: Actually, I didn't score any deals at all that day, either in real life or on line. All of the shopping I've done over the last few days has been done either on eBay or on the sites of Japanese game shops, neither of which offered any kind of Black Friday deals.

How about yourself? Did you score any BF deals?

Hello Adam, and than you for the b-day wishes, too! Also, the real-life version of the Animal Crossing cake is pretty neat, isn't it? I may have to make one for myself next year :)

Thank you, get well soon! ;)

Bryan Ochalla said...

Thanks, Marco! You never said, though, if your mom enjoyed her first trip to a Chinese restaurant :)

Thanks, Famicom Freak! It's been a relaxing birthday, that's for sure :) Hope you've had a nice day, too!

Happy birthday! Be sure to play some of those cool games when they show up (and write about them afterwards, of course)

Bryan Ochalla said...

Thanks, Zigfried! Also, of *course* I'm going to play some of those games -- and write about them. When don't I? :)

Bwah, how did I miss this earlier? Anyway, it's still technically your birthday in your timezone, so, happy birthday!

Oddly enough, I've found myself putting more retro games than usual on my birthday/Xmas wishlists! Trying to round up most of the Super Famicom RPGs I don't own this year, well, hopefully ;D

Bryan Ochalla said...

Hello Kamiwoo! Aw, no worries. It's still my birthday and, honestly, you didn't have to wish me a happy birthday anyway. That said, I appreciate that you did :)

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what retro games are on your wish lists? Regardless, Super Famicom RPGs are always a good bet!

Hey Happy birthday. I guess I`M a day late, but I hope you get some good Japanese games with that birthday money!

Bryan Ochalla said...

Thanks, Sean! Also, I did. Some fun non-Japanese ones, too ;)
