Just in case anyone cares: Here's a teaser trailer for Rhythm Heaven Fever

I know most of you aren't all that interested in the North American release of Rhythm Heaven Fever, but those of you who are interested in it should get a kick out of the following teaser trailer, which I believe is the first to shine a light on the game's English translation.

As much I like it, I wish it included clips of a few more mini-games (especially those featuring vocals). Of course, maybe the marketing wizards at Nintendo of America are saving them for a second, even wackier teaser trailer? After all, the game isn't due to hit store shelves until Feb. 13. (Pre-order a copy of it here.)

I really enjoy the other games in the series, but I also found Tengoku gold really hard. This looks amazing, I love the seals, the monkey handclaps, the everything!

Did you find Tengoku Gold harder than the GBA original, Linnea? If so, was it because of the touch-screen (swipe) controls? I didn't have a hard time with the DS version's controls myself, but I've heard others mention that they did. Anyway, the Wii version uses only button taps, so I'm guessing it should be a bit easier for you?

I'm not excited about the US release... but only because I'm european!

Ah, sorry about that, Retr0gamer! I would have mentioned the Euro release -- but NOE hasn't said much about it yet. No name (as far as I'm aware) and no release date, at the very least. Anyway, hopefully that changes soon...

I suspect this game won't be a big hit for the Wii, though it deserves to be - it looks like fun, and it's released for the ultimate casual gaming console (a distinction shared with the DS, for which I understand the excellent Rhythm Heaven didn't sell so well. That and Elite Beat Agents - what's wrong with you, Mainstream Gamers out there!?

In other words, this looks like a cool game.

I agree, David -- unfortunately. As great as the DS version was, it seemingly flopped everywhere it was released outside of Japan, which is a crying shame. Although I expect the Wii version to be every bit as fun as its DS-based predecessor, I think it's going to sell even worse than its counterpart. I hope I'm wrong, though. Regardless, I will be getting a copy (already pre-ordered it!) and will spread the word about it as much as possible. Sounds like you'll be getting a copy, too?

I'm loving this trailer. I certainly hope it's as fun as it looks. How could it NOT be?!

Yeah, it HAS to be fun, Justin. The good news is that the GBA and DS versions were as fun as can be, so I'm 99.9% sure this one will be, too. Feb. 13 can't come soon enough for me :)

I dunno about Rhythm Heaven. Kinda had fun on the DS version, but I found it kinda difficult - I guess my reflexes aren't best at the ripe old age of 35 LOL (and I guess it's probably one of the reasons why I'm longing for turn based RPGs more and more now).
Anyways, I do like the music/rhythm aspect of the game.
I came across some amusing parodies of one particular mini game:
Here's the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=u-_tQ702wRo
Parody 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ir516vWvpJs

Quite amusing :)

Hello again, diaglyph! It's funny that you say you're longing for turn-based RPGs in your "old age." Although I love turn-based RPGs (they're among my favorite games), I find I rarely have the patience to complete them anymore :(

Anyway, as for Rhythm Heaven: I can understand finding the games difficult, as I've certainly witnessed friends and family having a hard time with them. Still, they tend to enjoy them quite a bit, even when they suck at them :)

I must have a pretty good sense of rhythm because they come pretty easily to me. Not trying to rub your nose in it, mind you!

BTW, I've seen those parodies of the "wrestler" mini-game. Some of them are hilarious! That's the mini-game I'm most looking forward to playing, BTW :)
