Oh, look, yet another reason to buy one of those PINKxWHITE 3DS LLs at some point

With the reason in question being that Nintendo of Japan just added Club Nintendo Picross to its heaping pile of awesome Club Nintendo rewards.

Club Nintendo Picross, which apparently features Nintendo-focused puzzles of up to 80-by-80 squares in size, isn't a boxed game like previous Club Nintendo-only releases Game & Watch Collection and Tingle's Balloon Fight; rather, it's a digital title that can be downloaded to your 3DS or 3DS LL should you have 80 Club Nintendo points that you're willing to hand over.

Granted, it's more than possible that Club Nintendo Picross will be localized and offered to North American Club Nintendo members at some point, but I'd really like to make use of some of the Japanese Club Nintendo points I surely could obtain should I finally register all of the Japanese DS games I purchased over the last few years.

Also, I'd really like to own one of those sweet-looking PINKxWHITE 3DS LLs (sorry, I can't type that without using capital letters), so just let me believe it'll remain a Japan-only title, OK?

The more reasons to buy a pink x white 3DS LL the better, I say! Why? Because I'm convinced I'm going to get one before the end of the year, haha. I think I'm more interested in picking up a Japanese 3DS LL than I am getting a Wii U at this point.

Would this be an appropriate time to mention that I've never played Picross? Those puzzles look adorable, though!

I agree, Anne! BTW, are you planning to get a pink-and-white one, or are you considering a different color? Regardless, I'm excited for you -- and I can't wait to see photos of your system should you buy a pink/white one :)

I'm not sure when I'll get mine. I'm kind of waiting to see if Nintendo releases the pink/white XL/LL in the US. If they don't announce it by the end of the year, though, I may go ahead and pick up a Japanese one.

There's nothing wrong with having never played Picross before, by the way. I'd highly recommend giving it a try at some point, though. Nintendo's Picross DS is a good place to start, I think. Also, I think a rather good Picross game may hit the eShop soon. It's already hit the Japanese and Euro eShops, so I imagine we'll be next.

Oooooo! So hope they localize this! Maybe Nintendo will show the US some more love since it seems like the Wii U preorders are selling like gang busters! ^^

I haven't been able to play my Mario's Super Picross cart I got at PAX yet and I'm itching for some picross action. lol

I think it's FAIRLY likely Nintendo will release this elsewhere, Kaze. I can't imagine it'll take long to translate/localize, and surely it would be a popular Club Nintendo prize for them.

I completely forgot that you bought Mario's Super Picross around the same time you bought me Banana, BTW. I look forward to hearing what you think of it, as I've never played that version myself...

Harrumph.

Ha! Is that in response to Japan getting this first, Justin -- and to us possibly never getting it? If so, I agree! Let's just hope we *do* get it at some point.

Yeah, it was. I saw the 80x80 and I thought, "OMG! I NEED THIS!"

I won't get to attached to the idea of it, though...

I hear ya, Justin. Why set ourselves up for disappointment, right? Still, I hope it's released here eventually :)
