Also, I'm pretty sure scans of this game's manual are fairly hard to come by in the English-speaking portion of the Internet.
That's not to say The Berlin Wall's instruction manual is a dud. Actually, it's quite nice thanks in large part to the adorable illustrations that pop up here and there.

Those illustrations are present on the front cover of this import-only Game Gear title's manual, unsurprisingly enough, but they're also present on its back cover, which I think is a nice change of pace.

They can be found on its first few pages (above), too, which help spruce things up a bit.

Strangely, illustrations aren't used to tell The Berlin Wall's backstory (above). Instead, in-game visuals are given that task.

The instruction manual's next few pages take players through The Berlin Wall's rules and mechanics, with a few drawings and screenshots placed here and there to keep things from getting boring.

The left-hand page below shows a few of the items that can be picked up while playing through this cute single-screen platformer. My favorite is the dragon-shaped one, which seemingly tosses a dragon costume onto the protagonist and allows him to give his hammer a rest and shoot fireballs at on-coming enemies instead.
Also, it should be noted that defeated enemies in The Berlin Wall change into the pieces of cake that can be seen on the right-hand page below.

A few more items are showcased and explained on the manual's following pair of pages.

And with that we come to the last two pages of The Berlin Wall's rather short instruction manual. These pages shine a light on the game's colorful boss characters. I'm especially fond of the crown-wearing eggplant (who, for some reason, is sleeping in the illustration that appears on the right-hand page), of course.

That main character sort of looks like an early Ness from Earthbound. Cute illustrations!
What the hell is this? D: Penguins on Berlin wall? O.O
Looks interesting... o.o
Thank you for sharing these! I only have the cart so its great to finally see what's inside the manual :D
Hmmm, I see what you mean, Justin. I think you just made me like this game even more than I already did :)
Pix3l: Sadly, I have no idea as to what the backstory is for this game. As such, I'm not sure why penguins are climbing on the Berlin Wall either! Regardless, it's a very cute and fun game :)
Ah, glad I could give you a glimpse of this game's manual, Kimimi! It's pretty nice, isn't it? Short, yes, but also nice, I think :)
Funny, i bought TBW yesterday and it seems to be a very nice little game! :-)
