It's like the soundtrack to the awesome Mappy sequel of my dreams ...

The header above is the gist of my reaction to hearing, for the first time, the song "Circus" by SEXY-SYNTHESIZER (featuring Chihiro).

Which, of course, means I enjoyed the hell out of that initial encounter--as, really, who wouldn't love to hear a song that sounds like the main backing track of an imaginary follow-up to the Namco-made, mouse-fronted arcade classic of yesteryear?

I can't claim to have come across this gem myself, by the way. That honor belongs to Bill Sannwald (aka Mister Raroo), who turned me on to it a few days ago. Thanks, Bill!

That's the perfect description, I think :)

SEXY-SYNTHESIZER has done some Square-Enix related stuff too, on some of their chiptunes CDs. In particular, I like a chiptuned version of the final battle from Seiken Densetsu, as well as a medley that covers the ending themes from FF4,5, and 6. It's good stuff, and that guy's name is quite appropriate. =D

Oh! I didn't know this, Espiga. Sounds good to me. And now I'm going to have to check out this Seiken Densetsu remix/version of which you speak :)

Oh. My. God. You have no idea how long I was waiting for this EP to come out. I'd been obsessed with the track SOMEBODY since seeing the live performance last year on tinycartridge. It's like my favorite track. You should also listen to 'Far Out' on his ROCK album. This guys' done a few awesome releases for Square and Capcom too.
