Thanks to my recently completed EarthBound playthrough, I can't get this tune out of my head

I know I've shared this video before, but it's so darn good that I can't help but share it again--especially since it's been bouncing around in my brain ever since I finished EarthBound a couple of weeks ago.

Do any of you have favorite EarthBound tunes? If so, what are they?

I love it when videogame tunes sound like they were made to be played on real instruments! My favorite Earthbound songs are definitely this one and Onett theme. And "Pokey Means Business", and the name entry screen. There's so much unique and excellent music in Earthbound it's really impossible to decide.

Gah, you know what? I've honestly just thought of them as little more than palette swaps until now :( Oh, well, I grind like a fiend and haven't had too many problems yet, so at least there's that. Thanks for the info, though!

Yes, that last bit, especially, would be VERY nice!

Also don't forget, if you manage to make money, you can get the XP egg, which doubles XP/JP

Oh, yeah, I've got access to the golden egg and the XP egg now. Just haven't bought them yet...

Oh man, my knowledge of this series is woefully deficient. I played the original Earthbound once, while swapping the cartridge battery for a friend. The game didn't make much of an impression on me at the time (this was 2008 or so), but this post inspired me to give the English translation of Mother 3 a shot. Now THAT is making me think twice about blowing off this series. I'm stunned by how charmingly quirky the game is, and I have a funny feeling I'll be enjoying it a lot when I'm recovering from my surgery next week.

(Yes, it's more of that pancreatitus crap)
(Yes, I really hope it's going to be the end of it too)

So what's the deal with Pokey? I remember him from my brief encounter with Earthbound. He really, REALLY reminds me of Cartman from South Park, even if he came first.

Well, I'm glad I could inspire you to give this series another try, Jess!

That said, I really, REALLY would recommend you give EarthBound (SNES) a try at some point, too.

I've only scratched the surface of Mother 3, so I can't completely say how it compares to EarthBound/Mother 2, but I can tell you EarthBound is a totally amazing experience and you really should give it a go if you're at all able.

Sorry to hear about your continued pancreatitus woes, by the way. Fingers crossed that the surgery will bring that to an end!

Oh, and Pokey? Honestly, I'm not sure. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if Pokey didn't inspire Cartman in some way. They do seem awfully similar, IMO.

Oh, yeah. Humoresque of a Little Dog is my favorite song in the game, hands down. The Winters music is some of my favorite game music of all time. It's so beautiful and perfect.

Yep, I love the Winters theme, too--the sleigh bells (or whatever they are), especially.

BTW, the Winters theme is one EB track I just can't imagine can be improved upon in anyway fan musicians, etc.

I'm rather found of spirit master/ white mage. I haven't really used slave maker much yet which is weird because I have Anges mastered in it.

Yep, I'm using this on one character now, too, Sam. Tiz has mastered white mage and is well on his way to mastering spirit master, too. After that, maybe I'll try out salve maker...

Also don't forget to select Update Data from the save menu. This will update people's sent attacks that you can use from the Summon menu during combat.
Some people have some crazy attacks! (like over 400k dmg)

Yep, I do this every time I launch the game each day :)
