Incredibly cute? Check. Completely impractical? Check!

When I (finally) pick up a copy of Dragon Quest VIII later this year, I think I'll pick up one of Hori's slime controllers (below), too.

Sure, they're completely impractical, but they're so cute! And at $25 a pop, they're not all that expensive, either. Right? Right?!?

(This is where you politely nod and agree with me even if you think I'm crazy.)

You're crazy. But I'm with you.

Thanks for the support, Justin!

Hey, all the best people are mad.

Oh, and I finally finished the main story. The boss fight? Meh. I thought the fight against Leviathan to get control of the train was harder.

Have you checked out the little plateau near Angel Falls where all the slimes live? The first battle I walked into was against 5 metal slimes and a metal medley. AMAZING!

Oh, congrats on beating the final boss! Yeah, he isn't all that difficult, is he? You'll find many of the higher level grotto bosses to be more difficult, I think.

RE: 'Slime Hill' -- yep, I've been there! I haven't visited in a while, though, since some of the grottoes I've been going to have floors with Metal King Slimes, which give you TONS of experience (like, 40,000 EXP per character, if I'm remembering correctly).

Holy shit. Mail me your DS and I'll steal that map. :-P

Oh, don't worry -- you'll get treasure maps with Metal King Slimes soon enough. I've found two such maps so far, though the MKS don't show up until the 9th and 10th floors in those maps.

I've heard there are maps with entire floors of them, BTW. Yowza!
