Happy birthday to me (for real this time)!

Yep, it's finally my birthday. Yay!

It's been a great one so far, thanks in part to my husband and my parents--who not only sent me a copy of Kirby's Epic Yarn but also sent me the money that was used (a few days ago) to buy a Twin Famicom (and a select few Famicom games).

My sister-in-law added to the greatness yesterday by sending me a birthday package that included a ton of candy (I've got a *bit* of a sweet tooth) and a copy of Art Academy for the DS.

I've had my eye on this edutainment title since it hit the streets late last month, so I was enthralled when I opened said sister-in-law's package (that sounds dirty) and saw it staring back me.

I haven't played it yet--Kirby's Epic Yarn still has a hold on me--but I plan on getting to it as soon as possible.

Sweet! I'm excited FOR you! Here's to hoping it's as neat a title as we both think it will be!

Thanks, Justin! I wasn't going to mention my birthday here today, but I couldn't help myself after my sister-in-law surprised me with her gift. I'll play it soon and let you know what I think of it, OK?

Cool, we have the same birthday! I didn't get anything game-related though. Happy birthday to both of us! :)

Really, starfighter? That's cool! Sorry you didn't get anything game-related -- if, of course, that's what you wanted. Anyway, happy birthday to you, too!

Yeah, I turned 25 today! I did actually wish for a lot of games but it's hard for my significant other and my parents to find a game I don't already have. Haha, that sounds a bit crazy. Anyway, I've tried a similar game (I'm thinking of Art Academy now) but in the form of a homebrew of some sort for the DS a couple of years back. It was pretty fun but lacked that little extra something that motivated me - maybe this title does something more than just give you the tools? I'm gonna check it out tomorrow, read some reviews and stuff!

Ah, well congrats again! As for Art Academy -- there *seems* to be more to it than to the homebrew release you're talking about. At the very least, Art Academy includes a bunch of lessons that are supposed to help you draw better. I guess I'll find out soon enough if that's true!
