One last batch of QR codes for the two of you who are still playing THE 'DENPA' MEN 3

I'm not entirely sure why I wasted my time writing and publishing this post, to be honest. As far as I can tell, very few North Americans picked up this 3DS RPG, and it's likely only a small handful of those folks are still playing it today, three months after first hit the eShop.

I guess I did it because I figure a couple of those THE "DENPA" MEN 3 players might appreciate a little help--in the form of the following QR codes--as they continue to make their way through this oddly endearing (and often frustrating, it has to be said) little game.

All of these "Denpa" men (and women, I think) were caught while driving around Seattle in the last week or so (don't worry, my husband was driving--I was just a passenger), by the way. Not that you really needed to know that, I guess, but I'm letting you know anyway.

Jasiah + "Diamond Dust"

Serena + "Big Bang"

Nikolai + "Great Haste"

Ariella + "Rising Flames"

Jonas + "Laser Beam"

Sullivan + "Rare Treasure x2"

Delaney + "Hurricane"

Travis + "Abyss"

In case any of you are wondering which ones are my favorites: those would be Ariella and her "rising flames" attack, Jasiah and his "diamond dust" spell and the bandage-nosed Jonas and his "laser beam," although I also really like Delaney and Sullivan and Travis. (OK, so I like all of them.)

Silly question but are QR codes for the Denpa Man games region locked? I've never thought about the answer before until now.

Hey there, Adam! Unfortunately, the QR codes for all three games are region locked, which I think is a real shame. Thankfully, though, QR codes from all previous games can be used in the latest ones (so, codes from "Denpa" Men 1 and 2 can be used in 3, etc.), and there are plenty of QR codes from each region to be found on the Internet, so the situation's not as bad as it may sound.

I played the demo for the first game and found it really charming, but never ended up making the purchase. I downloaded "FREE" for the Japanese 3DS, but haven't really gotten around to messing around with it yet since it was much more text-heavy than I thought it'd be. It seems like a nice lite-jrpg though, which I wouldn't mind having around after behemoths like Bravely Default and SMTIV burned me (in a good way, I loved them, but soooo much time...).

These games are charming, Zach. And they are a nice counterpoint or counterpart to games like Bravely Default et al. That said, the second and third Denpa Men games are surprisingly involved RPGs. Sure, they're fairly light on story, but I'm now nearing the 40-hour mark in the third game and I'll probably top off at about 50 hours--and I'm guessing I could've put a similar amount of time into the second game. Of course, I put about 40 hours into the first, which is a much more streamlined experience (no overworld to explore being the the big reason for that). Anyway, the first one is my favorite, so I'm always recommending that one to people over parts two and three. Just know that the first one is a much more straightforward experience, as it's almost entirely about dungeon-crawling and battling. I liked that, but I know not everyone will.

I haven't, Zach, but mostly because I'm still playing 'Denpa' Men 3. After I'm done with it, I'll take a little break from the series and then consider it. Hopefully by that time 'Denpa' FREE will have been announced for NA release :)
