'Pixel Cake'

Anyone who played and enjoyed--or should I say endured--Capcom's Mickey Mousecapade as a tot should recognize the subject of the following painting, produced by Atlanta-based artist Ashley Anderson.

"This image is from a videogame I owned as a kid," Anderson says on etsy.com (where the 12-inch-by-12-inch piece is being sold for $80). "I feel a special, almost visceral bond with this health power up, partly from playing the game it was in and part(ly) from my affinity for cake."

Oh, Mickey Mousecapade...you tirelessly infuriating crapfest, you...

You know those three words -- tirelessly infuriating crapfest -- are the perfect ones to describe Mickey Mousecapade. Still, there's a part of me that wants to like it...

Me, too, actually. The first level is actually kind of fantastic...but after that? Not so much...

Ah, I'm with you there -- the first level at least has some redeeming qualities. That forest level, though -- yeesh!

Yeah...yikes. I have nightmares about that level.

Me, too! What a horrid level.

Once again-I wish I had a chorus to back me up on this one-thanks!!!

And yes MM is a suckfest with a special guest appearance by the Suckettes dancers backed by the music of the Manheim Suckroller. Thank God for the mental endurance of pre-playstation childhood.

I was always a little appalled at Capcom for letting this little shit scuttle out of its womb to terrorize the world, until I recently read that Hudson Soft actually made the game. That's right. For whatever reason Capcom put its name on this turd and adopted its first bastard game. I hope they learned their lesson.

You're welcome, Ash -- as always!

As much as I agree with you that MM is a suckfest (with a special guest appearance by the Suckettes -- ha!), it's always had a special place in my heart.

Also, you can't hate on the game *too* much, as it may have prompted Capcom to make the awesomely amazing Duck Tales and Chip & Dale (not to mention Little Nemo) games... :)
