Mark your calendars, folks!

Rhythm Heaven Fever will hit store shelves in North America sometime in February, according to latest issue of Nintendo Power.

The third game in Nintendo's vaunted Rhythm Heaven series--the first one, Rhythm Tengoku for the GameBoy Advance, only saw the light of day in Japan, while the second, DS-based one was released around the globe in 2008 and 2009--hit the streets in Japan back in July and has sold somewhere around 600,000 copies since.

Will the North American and European versions--the latter of which has yet to receive an official name or release date--of the second Rhythm Tengoku sequel sell anywhere close to that amount? I doubt it, but who cares? All that really matters is that those of us who want to play yet another iteration of this wacky game will be able to do so in our native languages (and without spending an arm and a leg on an import), right?

Anyway, while we wait for Rhythm Heaven Fever to "drop," as they say in the record business, may I suggest watching the video above, which turns a spotlight on the mini-game I'm most looking forward to experiencing?

Am I a bad person for considering just dropping the money now on an imported copy? I'm afraid Nintendo of America are going to ruin the singing voices again. The off-key, naisely girl from the monkey clapping game makes me cringe every time. She's so off key at points, it hurts. How did that pass?

Oh, I hear ya, Mark. I've seriously considered buying the Japanese version, too. Hell, if I could find a copy for less than $75 on line, I'd buy it right now. As it is, I'll likely buy the NA version when it comes out and the Japanese version when I can find it for a more reasonable price -- mainly because I *know* the voices in the Japanese version will, once again, be superior to the voices in the NA version :|

I read the good news last night. I knew you'd be happy about this Bryan. I'm rather tempted to import Rhythm Tengoku for GBA if I can find my old GBASP.

Must check if it's coming to Europe. Will import it if it isn't. I really regret not buying the original when I had a chance.

Yay! I saw that it was in the newest issue, but I haven't had time to read it...I'm trying to finish Zelda in my spare time. Frustrating right now...

Ah, you know me so well, Adam! I guess I have talked about this game quite a bit over the last few months, haven't I?

As for importing the GBA original: If you liked the DS version at all, my suggestion is YES, DO IT! It's easily my favorite GBA game and also one of my favorite games of all time.

Retr0gamer: It's supposedly been announced for Euro release but hasn't been given a release date yet. I'm willing to bet it'll be released around the same time as the NA version.

Justin: Are you saying you're frustrated with Zelda at the moment? If so, why?

I'm really thinking I'll get the game sometime early next year. Of course, I also want Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Rhythm Heaven Fever, etc...
