The Gay Gamer Giveaway™: Elminage Original (PSP/Vita) Edition

I know what some of you are thinking. "What? Another giveaway? Already? Didn't you just have one?"

Why, yes, yes I did. Somehow, though, the gaming goddesses smiled down upon me (they all work at UFO Interactive, apparently) and sent me three PSN codes for Elminage Original, a Wizardry-esque dungeon-crawler that's playable on both the PSP and Vita.

I just started playing this Starfish-developed game myself (the aforementioned goddesses provided me with a PSN code, too), and although the localization is a bit rough (or a lot rough) in spots and the rest of the game is tough as nails, I'm enjoying it so far.

So, what do you need to do to nab one of the three PSN codes mentioned earlier in this post? Leave a comment ("yo!" is fine) below. That's it.

Note: Like the last Gay Gamer Giveaway™, you have to be able to access and download from the North American PSN store if you want to be able to redeem one of these codes, so consider that before tossing your name into the proverbial hat.

As for when I'll draw the winners' names out of said hat: I'll do so on Christmas morning, so get your votes in (again, by leaving a comment below) by 11:59 pm Pacific on Dec. 24.

One last thing before I go: I've decided to do things a bit differently this time around. Specifically, I won't be promoting this giveaway via Twitter like I usually do, as I'd prefer the winners to be people who actually read the blog once in a while.

That said, I'm not sure all that many PSP and/or Vita owners follow this blog. So, if you know someone who would enjoy a free copy of Elminage Original, by all means let me know about the giveaway.

Again a great game I would looove to play on my Vita and again I have no chance because I live in Europe... damn.... :(

thegaygamer.com said...

Yeah, I *think* that's the case, sadly. That said, I don't fully understand how the Vita works when it comes to these situations. Maybe you should do a bit of digging to see if you can access the US store from your German Vita, etc?

You can switch accounts (and therefore regions) on your memory card, but that would render all of your PSN purchases on your primary account useless. I wanted to download some Japanese demos, but the process of resetting the Vita, watching the introduction video, resorting my bubble layout, and going through the tutorials again was a hassle.

Ah, thanks for the help, lunch. BTW, does this mean you do or don't want to toss your hat into the ring for one of the copies of Elminage Original?

I discover your blog a few months ago and i´ve reading it almost everyday. im not the writer type but this game sound really awesome ^__^

thegaygamer.com said...

Thanks, Juan! You've got a great shot of getting one of the three codes at the moment, as you're the only commenter who's thrown his hat into the ring. Good luck to you, and thanks for following the blog :)

Great giveaway. I obviously don't need it - but I'm going to make sure my readers see this. Nice post!

thegaygamer.com said...

Thank you, Chalgyr! Sorry I couldn't have started the giveaway before you bought your copy (unless you got a courtesy code, too?).

Sorry about that, I should have specified. I don't have time to play it, and I don't want to get burnt out on the genre prior to Etrian Odyssey IV, so I'm going to sit this one out.

thegaygamer.com said...

OK, just checking! If you know anyone who'd like a copy, send him/her this way, as I have a feeling not many people are going to sign up for this particular giveaway.

I usually just lurk here and don't comment much (or ever, except that one time...), but I can't say no to a potential free first-person dungeon crawler!

do i even need to post here? you know i want it.

I had gotten mine via review code, so no worries there! :)

thegaygamer.com said...

Oh, that's good to hear. I was just about to pay for mine when someone from UFO came through for me :)

thegaygamer.com said...

Hello Espiga! There's nothing wrong with lurking, although I do hope you'll chime in again once in a while--if you feel like it, of course. Anyway, consider yourself in the running for one of the three codes! Don't forget to come back here on Christmas day to see if you've won :)

You got it, Steve! Best of luck to you. So far, your odds are pretty good, I'd say!

Of the eight people on earth who own and play a Vita, I'm guessing six of them read your blog. I have neither, so I'm not in the running. Boo hiss.

thegaygamer.com said...

Ha! You may be right, Justin. That said, even I don't write about the Vita all that often, so maybe those folks go somewhere else? BTW, this game works on PSPs, too, although you don't have one of those either. Sorry about that. Hopefully my next giveaway will have something to offer you!

I enjoy dungeon crawlers, and wouldn't mind a copy. Hello from GAF.

You got it, dragonlife! Also, hello back at ya :)

I am interested. What I really want to know is your opinion on paper mario? Should I get it? The reviews are mostly mixed, but I don't have a lot of time for video games. Is it worth my time?

thegaygamer.com said...

Note to Jacob H: For some reason, either Blogger or Disqus is blocking the comment you tried to leave here. Sorry about that. Just know that you are in the running for one of the copies of Elminage, OK?

As for your question about Paper Mario: Sticker Star -- I haven't quite played enough of it yet to recommend it or not recommend it, unfortunately. What I can say is that the graphics and music are top-notch, the story/text is as funny and witty as ever and I actually like the sticker-focused gameplay. I'll play it some more and try to post some impressions for both you and others to read ASAP, OK?

I always read your blog but I don't always comment but because I have trouble expressing in English makes me draws back, anyway I would like to enter to this give away! greetings.

thegaygamer.com said...

Thanks for the comment, alan! Don't worry about not commenting regularly; I understand. That said, I hope you'll consider commenting more in the future. Your English seems fine to me! Anyway, thanks again, and good luck with the giveaway :)

apricotsushi said...

Oh gosh! Glad I caught this one ;) I'd love to enter, as this late-in-life PSP release definitely has me interested. Thanks as always for hosting such great giveaways!

Ah! I should have told you about it personally, Anne. Sorry about that. I didn't 'promote' it on Twitter this time just to see how it went. Anyway, consider yourself in the running! Everyone certainly has a great chance this time around, as there haven't been too many applicants--plus, I have three copies to give away :)
